Nuveen Real Estate has strengthened its commercial real estate debt business with the appointment of Steven Lim as senior director, debt strategies in Australia. Lim previously worked with CBRE in its capital advisors team raising debt and equity capital from local and global capital sources. Based in Sydney, he will focus on transactional execution, third-party relations, loan management and portfolio reporting.

JLL has promoted Joseph Yee to senior director, China valuation advisory (China VAS), where he will lead the team’s business development work in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Yee, who will be based in Singapore, has previously served as head of VAS and research and consultancy for JLL in Vietnam, and last as senior director of VAS in Singapore.

CBRE has appointed industry veteran Vo Thi Phuong Mai as head of retail services for Vietnam, bringing her experience in retail and commercial leasing and consultancy to the role. In Australia, the company also promoted Ryan Korda to national director – head of I&L, valuation and advisory services and Julian Volpato to director – head of I&L, valuation and advisory services, NSW.

Timothy Chen has joined Knight Frank as a senior director or strategic advisory in China, bringing 25 years’ of experience in China’s property market. Chen has covered many property sectors, led research and advisory teams and conducted strategic development consultancy for key real estate developers in China.

Alan Choi has been named as the chair of RICS Hong Kong Matrics Committee, which supports new members entering the profession. Choi, who is a manager at Emperor International Holdings, will serve in the role for two years. The committee connects and supports students, trainees and newly-qualified professionals up to five years post-qualification in the RICS community.
