Here’s how the REIT markets performed across Asia Pacific on Wednesday, 6 May 2020.
Hong Kong
Yuexiu REIT (405) stocks jumped 2.21% to HK$3.69 in Hong Kong trading today, while Fortune REIT (778) and Link REIT (823) rose 1.84% and 1.40% higher, respectively.
Sunlight REIT (435) slumped 0.77% to HK$3.89 and Prosperity REIT (808) finished the day 0.42% lower at HK$2.41.
The Hang Seng REIT Index rose 1.05%, as the Hang Seng increased 1.20% to 24,153.92.
Australia
National Storage REIT (NSR) shares finished 6.51% lower in Sydney today after announcing plans to raise A$300m yesterday, while Centuria Office REIT (COF) and Scentre Group (SCG) stocks fell 2.60% and 2.30%, respectively.
While minor REIT US Masters Residential Property Fund (URF) recorded the strongest gains (up 6.93%), Growthpoint Properties Australia (GOZ) and GPT Group (GPT) edged 1.36% and 1.30% higher.
The S&P/ASX 200 A-REIT Index (XPJ) declined 0.81%, while the S&P/ASX 200 slid 0.42%.
Singapore
In Singapore, Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust (BUOU) shares rose by more than 3.80% to S$1.08, followed by First REIT (AW9U), which gained 1.91%.
Sabana Shariah Compliant Industrial REIT (M1GU) stocks fell 3.04% to $0.32, while Keppel DC REIT (AJBU) declined 2.14% to $2.29.
The FTSE Straits Times closed 0.74% higher.
Japan
The Tokyo stock exchange was closed today for a public holiday.
Malaysia
In Kuala Lumpur, most REITs finished higher or unchanged today. KIP REIT (5280) shares increased 3.03% to RM0.85, while IGB REIT (5227) rose 1.70%.
The S&P Malaysia REIT Index edged 0.30% higher, while the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI finished trading 0.65% lower.
Thailand
Most Thai REIT shares finished trading lower today, as the country’s SET 50 Index dropped 1.94%.
Samui Airport Property Fund stocks declined 3.76% to ฿12.80, followed by a 3.11% fall for Strategic Hospitality Extendable Freehold & Leasehold REIT.
Dusit Thani Freehold & Leasehold REIT shares were among the few to rise, up 0.56% to ฿3.58.
Other markets
In South Korea, Lotte REIT shares jumped 2.54% to ₩5,250, as E KOCREF CR REIT stocks rose 1.72%.
There was little movement among Taiwan REITs, with Cathay No. 2 REIT stocks rising 0.23% to NT$17.49 and Fubon No.1 REIT shares edging 0.19% lower.
New Zealand REITs Kiwi Property Group Ltd. (KPG) and Precinct Properties New Zealand Ltd. (PCT) saw shares traded lower again today, declining 2.11% and 1.00%, respectively.
In India, Embassy Office Parks REIT (EMBASSY) stocks were 0.87% lower at ₹351.01 during afternoon trading.
