Allianz Real Estate has named Danny Phuan as its head of acquisitions – Asia Pacific. Phuan joins the firm from Keppel Capital, where he was the CIO of North Asia, and director of investments at Alpha Investment Partners prior to that.

Keppel REIT Management has appointed Ian Mackie as an independent non-executive director. He most recently served as the international director and Asia Pacific head of strategic partnerships at LaSalle Investment Management and retired in 2018. Mackie sat on LaSalle’s Asia Pacific investment committee from 2006 and its global investment strategy committee from 2008.

CBRE has recruited Gretchen Yuan as executive director, capital advisors, Asia. Yuan joins the company from Hodes Weill and Associates, where she was a principal covering institutional capital and investment managers in the Greater China market. She will be based in Hong Kong, where she will work with the firm’s capital markets teams on major transactions across the region.

Colliers International has appointed C K Lau as head of valuation and advisory services in Asia. Based in Hong Kong, he brings more than 30 years’ of experience in the Hong Kong SAR, Greater China and broader Asia region to the role. The industry leader joins the company from JLL, where he was executive director and head of valuation advisory services, Asia and Greater China.

Brenda Ong

Cushman & Wakefield has hired Brenda Ong to lead its industrial and logistics business in Singapore. Ong has previously held roles at CBRE and Colliers International, with more than 20 years’ of experience working with Singapore’s leading industrialists and logistics players. She will lead a team of six and report to Singapore and Southeast Asia chief executie Dennis Yeo.

Nelson Wong has returned to JLL to take up the head of research for Greater China and Hong Kong role. He worked with the firm between 1997 and 2004 before taking on equity analyst positions at Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank. He has also worked as a portfolio manager at ING Real Estate, now known as CBRE Global Investors.

JLL also appointed Sydney-based Nick Willis to the role of director, national retail investments in Australia. He joins the company from CBRE, where he most recently led the NSW retail investments business.

Nick Evans

Nuveen Real Estate has promoted head of Australia Nick Evans to managing director of Nuveen Real Estate Asia Pacific. In his new role, Evans will join the global real estate leadership team and lead the Asia Pacific real estate leadership team. The promotion comes amid Jose Minaya‘s ascension to CEO of Nuveen, the parent company of Nuveen Real Estate.

Allianz Real Estate has hired JLL’s APAC research guru Megan Walters as global head of research. Walters, who will be based in Singapore before relocating her family to Europe, brings more than 20 years’ of experience to the role. Previously, she was the head of Asia Pacific research at JLL and a member of the firm’s global research executive team.

Xinyuan Real Estate has appointed the company’s serving president in China, Shangrong Li, as a director to its board. The move comes after director Wells Tian resigned from the board, in addition to his roles on the compensation committee and the nominating and corporate governance committee, to pursue other opportunities. Li will also serve on the investments committee.

JLL has promoted Michael Glancy to head of transaction businesses for Thailand. Glancy, who was a senior director of office leasing in Hong Kong, will have direct responsibility for the markets, industrial and logistics, retail, residential and capital markets teams. The promotion follows JLL’s appointments of Theo Novak to executive director, head of international investments for Greater China and Matthias Hoffmann as senior director, capital markets in Japan.

CBRE has hired Troy Craig as regional director to lead its hotels’ valuation and advisory services team in Australia and New Zealand. Craig was previously the managing director of the strategic advisory division in JLL’s hotels and hospitality group.

Savills India has appointed Namit Kanchan to its industrial and logistics team in Chennai as a director, as well as Amit Untavadkar as an associate director to its commercial advisory and transactions team in Pune.
