Greg Hyland has joined CBRE as managing director, capital markets, Asia Pacific, where he will lead the capital markets teams across the region. Hyland brings more than 18 years’ experience to the role, having most recently served as head of capital markets, Singapore at JLL. Over the past five years, Hyland has advised on more than $10bn in real estate transactions.
CBRE Global Investors has named Charles ‘Chuck’ Leitner as global CEO, succeeding Ritson Ferguson, who had informed the company of his intention to step down from the role. Leitner previously served as president and CEO at the Berkshire Group and held the global CEO at Deutsche Asset Management prior to that. Ferguson will continue with CBRE GI as CEO of CBRE Clarion Securities, the business he co-founded in 1991.
Starwood Capital has recruited Kevin Lee as managing director and head of real estate for Asia. He rejoins the firm from Lone Star Funds, where he acted as managing director responsible for the company’s investments in Asia. Lee will be based in Singapore, but will relocate to Starwood’s Tokyo office once it opens in 2020.
Herron Todd White has appointed Gary Brinkworth as its new CEO, starting in the role early next year. He joins the firm from United Petroleum, where he serves as group CEO. HTW acting CEO Jacqui Bayles will resume her role as general counsel, company secretary and head of legal, risk and standards when the new CEO starts.
Hines has named Lee Timmins as its CIO of Asia, having led the firm’s Eurasia Region from Moscow since 2014. He brings more than 30 years’ property experience to the role and will soon establish a regional Hines Investment Management office in Asia.
M&G Investments has appointed Loretta Ng as its new head of Asia, as the firm builds its real estate portfolio in the region. She joins from Eastspring Investments, where she has served as CEO of Eastspring Taiwan since 2011. Ng will be based in Singapore and report to head of distribution for asset management, Joffy Willcocks, and chief international officer, Graham Mason.
