Vicinity Centres has named Tanya Southey as chief people and culture officer (CPCO) and will start in the role in late October 2019. Southey brings more than 20 years’ executive experience across human resources and culture transformation to the job. She has previously worked as the human resources director at Carlton United Breweries, group general manager, people at Jetstar and vice president, human resources at GE Money.

ESR has recruited Chang Rui Hua as group managing director of capital markets and investor relations. The new hire will focus on driving the firm’s capital market activities, leading its investor relations function and providing insights on market developments. Chang joins the firm from CapitaLand, where she had served as head of capital markets and corporate finance, and corporate planning for CapitaLand China.

Link REIT has appointed Kenneth Wong to company secretary of Link Asset Management Limited and as an authorised representative of the trust, succeeding Ricky Chan. Chan, who spent nine years in the roles, will continue as director (legal) until his retirement which is scheduled for July 2020.

Abacus Property chair John Thame announced his retirement in August and was replaced by non-executive director Myra Salkinder. Thame had served on the Abacus board since its inception in 2002. Non-executive director Mark Haberlin was appointed to lead independent director at the same time. 

CBRE has promoted Mitsuhiro Jimbo to head of property management Japan, overseeing its asset management, property management and property management accounting service lines. Jimbo joined CBRE in February this year to lead business operations for the property management division. He was previously employed as the head of global corporate real estate for the LIXIL Group and has held senior roles at Dell and Microsoft Japan.

Savills has recruited Laxman Manukolla as a senior director in its capital markets team in India. Manukolla, who will be responsible for South India business, joins the firm from JLL India.

CBRE has also hired Peter Chapple and Jack Morrison to its capital markets office business in Brisbane. Chapple joins the firm as senior director, capital markets – office, having previously served as state director for capital transactions at Savills. Morrison, who also joins from Savills, takes up the role of associate director, Middle Markets.

Colliers International has appointed Frank Oliveri to director in charge of its Sydney West and Sydney South West offices and joins the firm from CBRE.
